KPMG Canada released the 2024 Generative AI Adoption Index, which delves into the extent to which Canadians are leveraging generative Artificial Intelligence in the workplace. The report analyzes the risks of AI in Canadian workplaces, and reviews how organizations are applying AI within the workplace. The report found that Generative AI platforms are being adopted in workplaces at a faster rate in comparison to 2023. According to the study, as AI adoption increases, employees are engaging in riskier behaviour, potentially posing harm to their employers.

- 46% of adult Canadians are using generative AI at work, up from 22% since 2023
- 65% report using generative AI solutions at work every day, up from 51% in May 2023
- 68% report generative AI as saving them at least 1 hour of work per week
- 18% of employees say their company formally allows the use of generative AI tools and have a comprehensive policy in place
