The Canadian Association of Social Workers (CASW, @canadianassociationofsocia4233) selected the theme of #SocialWorkIsEverywhere for this year’s National Social Work Month celebrations, to highlight the vast and diverse ways that social workers contribute to their communities across Canada. From schools to hospitals, community centres to policy-making, social workers are at the heart of social progress, championing equity, justice, and human dignity.
Here in Nova Scotia, the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers (NSCSW) held a virtual interactive event on March 3, 2025, for our members to hear from NSCSW leadership, learn more about CASW and NSCSW activities and initiatives, and connect with their peers in every part of our province.
An excerpt of that event was recorded, so that members of our social work community who weren’t able to attend the live event can join us in celebrating the many faces and facets of social work in Nova Scotia!

For members of NSCSW, viewing and reflecting on this recording is eligible to be included in their professional development records as an informal learning activity.
Participants may also choose to follow up after watching the recording to participate in advocacy related to the session’s content; such advocacy activities would be eligible towards the mandated requirements for all social workers in Nova Scotia to complete annual professional development related to the active pursuit of social justice.
