Nonprofits are vital partners in building strong and connected communities across British Columbia. The 2020 updates to the Lobbyists Transparency Act created barriers for nonprofits, often discouraging communication with elected officials. In 2022, Vantage Point, together with sector partners Board Voice, United Way BC, and the Vancouver Foundation, submitted recommendations aimed at addressing the barriers the Lobbyists Transparency Act poses for nonprofit organizations in British Columbia.

Now, these organizations are continuing to advocate for changes to the Lobbyists Transparency Act to reduce these barriers, ensuring their collective important voice is heard by elected officials. Your collective feedback is critical, and this is a key opportunity to present the challenges and impacts of the Lobbyists Transparency Act on nonprofits.
