As we continue to make progress with the COVID-19 vaccine, our students remain on the frontlines helping to keep our community safe.

Samantha Yin, a 2nd-year student in the College of Osteopathic Medicine, shares her experience administering vaccines to the elderly populations at Tzu Chi Buddhist Temple in Las Vegas. At Tzu Chi, students from the DO and PA programs helped translate in Mandarin, Cantonese, Burmese, and Vietnamese.

“Without our help of translating the forms and explaining what the vaccine is, they wouldn’t be able to get the vaccine themselves. It was such a great reminder that it is so important, as future healthcare providers, to use our own skills where we can to help support our community members.”
