The Nonprofit Chamber and The Nonprofit Vote published the Building a Stronger Nonprofit Workforce: An Alberta Nonprofit Workforce Strategy Feasibility Study Report. In response to the ongoing challenges facing the nonprofit sector, The Nonprofit Vote and The Nonprofit Chamber made advancing a Workforce Strategy one of their top five priorities. With the support of the Ministry of Arts, Culture, and Status of Women, this Feasibility Study marks the first step toward an Alberta Nonprofit Workforce Strategy—exploring sector needs, readiness, and opportunities.
The study delves into the components of the Nonprofit Workforce Strategy. A Feasibility Analysis was conducted, which consisted of a Needs Analysis, Readiness Assessment, and Feasibility Assessment. As a result, they recommend establishing a Nonprofit Workforce Sector Council to provide leadership, coordination and accountability on a workforce strategy that prioritizes gaps in current activities and amplifies work already underway. The study also proposes strategic recommendations and highlights the enabling conditions necessary for long-term sustainability.
