☎️We have been receiving calls from past customers, friends, and family with questions about applying for flood aid.❓
We made some calls to FEMA and Disaster Assistance and here is what we were able to find out.
**This is for informational purposes only – the below was provided to Benchmark as a best-case scenario example.**
💻 Apply online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov.
📞By phone using FEMA’s toll-free registration line by calling 800-621-FEMA (3362). If you have a speech disability or hearing loss and use a TTY call 800-462-7585; or use 711 or Video Relay Service (VRS) to call 1-800-621-3362. Telephone registration is available 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week.
📃Settlement or denial from your insurance company (for the denial, a letter from your agent and your declaration page should suffice)
🔎FEMA/ Emergency Management would send out a contracted inspector – it is determined by each municipality as to how value is determined.
📆Depending on damage and access to the property – if passable they may get to you within 7-10 days. If not, it depends on when it is safe to inspect.
📋Once the inspection is complete, we were told a decision could be made within 24-48 hours
💵Once a decision is made, we were told money could be dispersed within 24-72 hours if direct deposited.
