Immigrant and refugee youth are exposed to specific traumas and stressors when acclimating to a new country, from increased isolation to a lack of stability. In this talk, Dr. Jeffrey Winer describes the intervention framework developed by his team at Boston Children’s Hospital and how educators can implement those techniques in the classroom.

Jeffrey P. Winer, PhD, is an attending psychologist at the Boston Children’s Hospital Trauma and Community Resilience Center and an assistant professor at Harvard Medical School. His research focuses on developing and implementing culturally responsive and trauma-informed psychological interventions for immigrant and refugee families and youth, specifically helping to develop the Trauma Systems Therapy for Refugees model.
