Even with an increase from 1% in 2019 to 7% as of 2013, refugee enrolment in Africa higher education is still six-fold below the global average of 42%. This gloomy phenomenon highlights a crying need for impactful stakeholder intervention.
It is against this backdrop that the World Bank, the United Nations High Commission on Refugees, and the Association of African Universities converged in a webinar to discuss the way forward.
This insightful webinar, attended by over 80 participants from the ACE Impact community, thus reveals the educational and capacity needs of refugees, explores collaborative opportunities for refugees, and suggests practice-based models and innovations to shape initiatives aimed at creating a positive impact in refugees’ lives.
