This work is critical, as the situation across Gaza remains desperate. Hospitals are struggling with a relentless influx of patients, while heavy restrictions on supplies and limited movement into and within Gaza have led to shortages of fuel, food, water, and essential medical equipment. The ongoing conflict further complicates access to hospitals for both patients and staff.
Despite these enormous barriers, Al Awda’s facilities are among the few that continue to offer healthcare to Gazans. In particular, the Al Awda facility in Jabalia is one of only three functioning hospitals in the northern region, serving as a crucial lifeline for thousands of refugees—many of whom are women and children whose homes and communities have been devastated.
With support from European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations, Relief International is doing everything possible to keep Al Awda’s facilities operational. So far, we have established two supply routes to deliver essential medical supplies to the hospitals. To mitigate potential disruptions, we are developing adaptable supply chains to ensure a consistent flow of resources.
